A “chance encounter” with art, when I signed up for a few lessons with an Indian artist, sealed my fate and established a life long love for art.
I could express myself freely through art. However I was soon to discover that while the choice of subject or theme is mine alone, during the execution, the artwork “comes to life” and develops a mind of its own, taking over from me. These contradictory forces of control and a lack of it, is what I find most fascinating, inspirational and motivating about art.
Having benefited from a varied tutelage, my art is a confluence of diverse styles, textures, medium and colors.
To me, art is a non-verbal expression of my emotions and values and beliefs that I uphold. It is an amalgam of my unique life experiences, socio-cultural values and creative processes that I have been exposed to during my stay in and travels to diverse places across the world.
