This collection has been influenced by the philosophy and science of the Bhagwad Gita and its underlying five principles of Isvara (God), Jiva (living entity), Prakriti (nature), Kala (eternal time) and Karma (activity).
The teachings from the “Teacher” or God to his “student”, in the Gita, urging him to be “….equipoised in performance of your duty, abandoning all attachment to success or failure”, is in consonance with my artworks; where the ‘process‘ is supreme.
The creative process to me represents a fantastic, exciting journey, a constant involvement of the eye with the image, in a process where there is no control.
It begins with the colors developing their own internal dialogue, after being released on the canvas. The intervention by another medium acting as a catalyst then produces a reaction, which further develops a unique image, with its own pulse and pattern. Thus leaving footprints across the canvas that is in consonance with the mood with which they were initiated. Through this creative interaction I aim to give the viewer an opportunity to explore with me the thoughts and beliefs that influence my work and me.
